Welcome to the House of Tears. The House of Tears was established in August 2007 by Lady Amathiess.
Our Mission
The House of Tears was established for the purpose of education, enlightenment and strengthening the real vampire and otherkin community.
General Rules
Please read the lexicon. It will explain our laws and what is expected from our members.
All members are to be curtious to others within the House of Tears.
No bashing or flaming
All posts must be orignial posts. Do not copy and paste posts from other sites. We take copyright infringement very seriously. Members may quote someone else and if doing so must have the text in quotations and must give a link or reference as to where the quote came from. Please be advised that posts will be checked for copyright infringement at random. Any post that is found to be in violation of copyright infringement will be deleted and the user will face charges within the House of Tears as well as be reported for copyright infringement.
House of Tears is not affiliated or associated with any other House, Coven or Group within the Vampire or Otherkin Community.
Our Lexicon
Membership:
All members of the House of Tears must be 18 years of age or older.
As members of the House of Tears your actions reflect upon every member of this House. We expect our members to be kind, courteous, helpful and on their best behavior when dealing with others in the House and in the vampire and Otherkin community at large. Lead by example.
The ranking structure within the House of Tears is as follows:
New Member: a new member must make 25 new posts to move to the next rank
Junior Member: a junior member must make a total of 55 new posts to move to the next rank
Full Member: a full member must make a total of 80 new posts to move to the next rank
Lifetime Member: a lifetime member must make a total of 300 new posts.
Titles of nobility must be earned and are not lightly given. No member can claim a title of nobility within the House of Tears unless the House of Tears has given that member the honor of such a title. Titles of nobility are awarded to members who show hard work, loyalty and dedication to the House of Tears and its members.
The Forums:
Bashing and or flaming are not allowed in the House of Tears forums.
The House of Tears takes copyright infringement very seriously. Posts will be checked periodically for copyright infringement. Quotes from outside sources are allowed and must be in quotation marks and at the bottom of the post the source must be given with a link or email address for the person from whom the quote was taken. Permission does not need to be obtained from the source when using quotations. Do not quote entire paragraphs or articles. Any member of the House of Tears who plagiarizes another will be brought up on charges within the House of Tears and if found guilty will be placed in the Crypt and reported for copyright infringement.
Please keep profanity to a minimum. All members of the House of Tears are adults and as such the House of Tears expects its members to use appropriate words when called for. Do not use racial, sexual preference, religious derogatory words as this is also not tolerated.
Magistrates:
The magistrates are appointed by the Founder of the House of Tears. The purpose of the magistrates is to be impartial and hear any case that is presented before them. Their judgment is final and may only be reversed by a unanimous vote by the panel of Elders.
The magistrates will consist of 3 judges, 2 advocates and 2 investigators.
The magistrates will only concern itself with the Lexicon from the House of Tears and all cases brought before the magistrates must be violations of the Lexicon of the House of Tears and must have been committed within the House of Tears. The magistrates will not in any way hold any member of the House of Tears liable for breaking any laws of the vampire or Otherkin community outside of the House of Tears.
Elders:
The panel of Elders will consist of no more than 5 members. The Elders are appointed by the Founder of the House of Tears.
Elders are charged with helping to educate the newly awakened vampires and Otherkin, to lead by example, offer help when needed to members of the House.
The panel of Elders has the power to reverse a magistrate decision by unanimous vote only. In the event that an Elder wishes to discuss a case a meeting must be called and all Elders and the Founder must be present to discuss a case for reversal. The Founder will take a private single vote at the end of the meeting which will determine if the magistrate decision will be reversed or not. A meeting must take place no more than one month from the date of the end of the trial.
